Biden won’t drop out, campaign insists in new memo

In the wake of a string of disappointing primary results, speculation has been swirling about whether former Vice President Joe Biden should drop out of the race for the Democratic nomination. However, Biden’s campaign is insisting that he is not going anywhere, according to a new memo released on Wednesday.

The memo, written by Biden’s campaign manager, Jen O’Malley Dillon, acknowledges that the campaign has faced some setbacks in recent contests, including a fourth-place finish in the Iowa caucuses and a fifth-place finish in the New Hampshire primary. However, O’Malley Dillon argues that the campaign is still in a strong position to compete in the upcoming primaries and caucuses.

“The results of the first two contests were not what we wanted, but we have always known that this would be a long and difficult race,” O’Malley Dillon writes in the memo. “We are confident that Vice President Biden is the best candidate to defeat Donald Trump in November, and we are committed to seeing this through to the end.”

The memo also highlights Biden’s strong support among African American voters, who make up a significant portion of the electorate in several upcoming states, including South Carolina and Super Tuesday states like Alabama and North Carolina. O’Malley Dillon argues that Biden’s support among black voters will help him to perform well in these states and regain momentum in the race.

Despite calls from some pundits and political commentators for Biden to drop out and consolidate support behind a more progressive candidate like Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren, the campaign is adamant that Biden is in the race to win. O’Malley Dillon points to Biden’s extensive political experience, his strong record on issues like healthcare and gun control, and his ability to appeal to a broad cross-section of voters as reasons why he is the strongest candidate to take on Trump in the general election.

“Joe Biden has spent his entire career fighting for working families and standing up for what’s right,” O’Malley Dillon writes. “He is a proven leader with the experience and the vision to bring our country together and move us forward. We are not going to let a couple of early setbacks deter us from our goal of winning the nomination and defeating Donald Trump in November.”

As the race for the Democratic nomination continues to heat up, it remains to be seen whether Biden’s campaign can overcome its recent setbacks and regain its footing. But one thing is clear: Biden is not going to drop out of the race anytime soon. He and his team are in it for the long haul, and they are determined to fight until the very end.
